T.F. Cia de Dança

T.F. Cia de Dança investigates Contemporary Urban Dance and explores the possibilities of exercising a contemporary approach to hip hop. This research focuses on discovering new bodily possibilities through techniques from different urban dances, while developing an original body of work marked by an investigative journey into the sensations that stimulate these bodies through the individuality of the performers and through bodily states built from the relationship between body and city. The research begins with urban dances, but gradually transforms their foundations, creating and modifying their references and developing this particular investigation.

The group T.F.Style began in 2002 under the direction of Igor Gasparini. In 2007, under the artistic direction of Frank Tavantti, T.F.Style Cia de Dança emerged, standing out precisely for this distinction: being one of the pioneering groups in the investigation of Contemporary Urban Dance. In 2022, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the artistic group, we began using only the name T.F. Cia de Dança.

The company was awarded the 20th, 24th, 28th, and 32nd editions of the São Paulo City Dance Promotion Program — Fomento à Dança — in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022, as well as the PROAC Call for Dance Performance Touring in the State of São Paulo in 2016, 2020, and 2022. It received the 2019 APCA Award for Best Premiere with ELO and the Denilto Gomes Award for Best Cast for Zona Cinzenta in 2022.
